TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM - The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the University of Indonesia (UI) will hold a demonstration at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Central Jakarta, tomorrow, Friday (June 12, 2026). During the demonstration, students will present five demands to the government. The Head of the UI Faculty of Law BEM, Anandaku Dimas, stated that the five demands are the result of internal consolidation by BEMs from all faculties at UI. 1. Stop wasting the State Budget (APBN). 2. Reduce the prices of basic necessities and fuel. 3. Stop the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) and the development of the Red and White Village Cooperative. 4. Stop militarism in the civilian sphere. 5. Urge President Prabowo Subianto to acknowledge the government's mistakes and stop denying them. Dimas revealed that student representatives from the National Development University (UPN) Veteran Jakarta and the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) were also present during the consolidation process. However, he could not confirm whether the two universities would participate in Friday's demonstration. "We are open to all members of the public who wish to join tomorrow's demonstration," Dimas said, as quoted by Tribunnews.com on Thursday (June 11, 2026). The demonstration at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. An estimated 1,500 people are expected to attend. Dimas emphasized that the demonstration is not affiliated with any particular group or group. As is known, the fuel prices that have increased are non-subsidized. Pertamax, for example, was originally Rp 12,300 per liter and has now become Rp 16,250 per liter.
