Au coeur d'une prison pour femmes

The women's prison in Rennes is the largest women's prison in Europe and the only one in France exclusively dedicated to women. Its particular architecture gives this old prison the appearance of a convent. Apart from a "prison house" district, the establishment is intended to accommodate long sentences. The women who are detained there have committed crimes generally described by public opinion as horrific. Authorized on an exceptional basis to be able to film these detainees with their faces uncovered, we collected their words for six months. Director: Eric Lemasson
