Is the Panasonic Lumix GX85 still worth using in 2025? In this long-term review, I share my real-world experience with this beloved Micro Four Thirds camera and explain why it continues to be one of my favorite travel and everyday cameras. The Panasonic Lumix GX85 (also known as GX80 in some regions) was first released in 2016 as the successor to the popular GX7. Even though it is now 9 years old, this compact mirrorless camera still offers excellent features for photographers and videographers, including in-body image stabilization (IBIS), responsive autofocus, timeless image quality, manual controls, and a solid handling experience. I’ve taken this camera on countless trips and captured thousands of photos, and in this video, I’ll go over its strengths, weaknesses, and how it compares to modern Micro Four Thirds, APS-C, and full-frame cameras.
