Excel Calculation for Rainfall Intensity [Unit Hydrograph Calculation Part 1] A unit hydrograph is a surface runoff hydrograph resulting from effective rainfall that occurs evenly across a watershed and at a constant intensity over a specified time period. The purpose of a unit hydrograph is to estimate the relationship between effective rainfall and surface runoff, as well as to estimate flooding or design discharge in a watershed or sub-watershed. To determine the unit hydrograph, the following calculations are used: 1. Rainfall Frequency Analysis (Explained in the previous part) 2. Rainfall Intensity Calculation (Part 1) 3. Hourly Rainfall Distribution Pattern (Part 2) 4. Effective Rainfall (Part 3) 5.
