Zapu Phizo Angami by Methaneile Jütakhrie

Phizo Angami (May 16, 1913 - April 30, 1990), Father of the Naga Nation Angami Zapu Phizo was born in Khonoma on 16 May 1913.The Nagas regard him as "Father of the Naga Nation". A.Z.Phizo started his schooling in Khonoma, then went on to Baptist Mission School in Kohima (1918) and completed his high school at Shillong, Assam, in 1927. He was a Naga nationalist leader with British Nationality. Phizo breath his last on 30th April 1990 (at the age of 76yrs) in Bromley, London, United Kingdom
