NAMIBIAN TOUR DAY 8: MEETING THE HIMBA TRIBE AT SPITZKOPPE

Today is day 8 of our epic `namibian tour, and we are leaving Swakopmund to go inland to Spitzkoppe. We take the longer scenic route along the southern part of the Skeleton coast. passing by the eerie Zeila Shipwreck, and then turning Eastward at Henties Bay into the D1918 towards Spitzkoppe. When we got to Spitzkoppe we didn't have enough time to explore but we went on a cultural tour with the Himba Tribe. A semi-nomadic pastoralist group of indigenous people usually found in the Northern part of Namibia. famous for their unique cultural heritage and use of bold, red ochre-covered skin and hair for sun protection and beauty. The Himba are one of the last traditional tribes in Namibia, maintaining their unique way of life despite external pressures.
