We slowly leave the Atacama Desert to gain altitude and reach Bolivia. Before crossing the border, we climb Cerro Toco, a beautiful peak at 5,604 meters above sea level, which offers a breathtaking view of the Bolivian Lagoon Road. Charmed by this climb and excited by a potential new altitude record, we cross the Bolivian border and decide to attempt the ascent of the Juriques Volcano, a colossus at 5,703 meters above sea level. The climb proves more difficult than expected. Will we make it to the end?
