There are two reasons for this. First, I am focusing a lot of attention on older patterns, mostly flies before 1950 (when I can find that information). I fell in love with fly tying and fishing back when wet flies and freshwater streamers were still a thing, at least they seemed to me. For a long time I have wanted to focus on this older patterns and learn and refine my techniques for creating wet flies, soft hackles, bucktail streamers, and classic freshwater streamers. The second reason is I will be attending a Tie-A-Thon in May that is being hosted by the St. Joseph River Valley Fly Fishers in Elkhart Indiana. The day of the event, I will be tying soft hackles and the idea is to tie as many as you can and then donate them. You can also donate flies separate from the event, in case you can not make it. So, I will be tying flies that day and donating a whole bunch that I have tied while making videos of each one. I had planned on starting on some wet flies this winter but this worked into my plans very well. The Partridge & Yellow is a very basic soft hackle fly, just yellow thread and a Hungarian Partridge hackle. However, it is also one of the most effective soft hackle flies and it has been around for many many years (along with the Partridge & Orange and the Partridge & Green). I talk some in the video about the fly, resources to read up on it as well as about the Tie-A-Thon.
