Diagnose vom Zündverteiler mit Hallgeber beim VW T4 - T4-Wiki-Verfilmt - Bardis Liste
In this video, I explain how to diagnose the distributor on a VW T4 gasoline engine with a 2.5L engine (in this case, for engine codes ACU and AAF), what obstacles you might encounter during installation and removal, and how to determine if it's faulty. As mentioned in the video, you must buy the distributor that's actually installed in your vehicle; otherwise, the engine either won't start at all or won't run optimally. Unfortunately, VW has assigned several part numbers to this part: 023905205B and 02390520C. In most cases, the "B" number is used for the AAF engine, and the "C" for the ACU. Furthermore, the pickup is usually located at the top of the distributor on the ACU and at the bottom on the AAF. However, this isn't always the case. VW can apparently program the control unit via their computer to work with both the "B" and "C" versions. Since hardly anyone has access to this great VW computer, the only option is to buy the exact same distributor that was originally installed. Unfortunately, these distributors are no longer available from VW, but they can still be found on eBay, for example. Here are the affiliate links: Distributor with Hall sensor on top (ACU): https://t1p.de/rtvnc (eBay) Distributor with Hall sensor on the bottom (AAF): https://bit.ly/3gIcCXQ (Amazon) Distributor with Hall sensor on the bottom (AAF): https://bit.ly/3b6GNXC (eBay search) You can find all this and more in written form in the T4 Wiki linked here. It's item 3.6.6 in the Bardis list. Distributor with Hall sensor on the bottom (AAF): https://bit.ly/3b6GNXC (eBay search) http://bit.ly/2UlSGUs In case the T4 Wiki ever goes offline, you can always find the Bardis list here on waybackmachine.org: http://bit.ly/2I2rtQ5 And you can find a small, practical toolbox with quality tools from Proxxon at a surprisingly low price here: http://bit.ly/2U1OyUr How to contact me: If you need help because you and your mechanic are stuck with your T4, feel free to contact me. My email address is fahrzeugerklaerbaer [at] gmail.com And last but not least: If you found the video helpful and perhaps saved a lot of money because you now know your distributor is still okay, and you'd like to buy me a coffee, you can do so here: https://www.paypal.me/Support4Daniel
