吃音と向き合い夢へ―「きつおんJK」高校生2人の新たな一歩

Hu Chun and Risa from Kudamatsu City, who have been active as a high school student unit called "Kitsuon JK" (Stuttering High School Girls), are both stutterers themselves. With the desire to "raise awareness of stuttering," they have been working to spread understanding throughout Yamaguchi Prefecture for about a year and a half. Their first encounter was at a cafe where ordering took a long time. They bonded over this and have since worked to promote understanding of stuttering in various ways, including posting on social media, giving lectures, holding film screenings, and even planning their own cafe. Through their activities, they have forged connections with others who share the same struggles, and their network has expanded to include supporters and those involved in education and childcare. They are increasingly hearing comments like, "Yamaguchi has changed," and they feel that their activities are gradually taking root in the community. However, both are currently in their third year of high school. To focus on university entrance exams, I've decided to temporarily suspend my activities as a "Stuttering High School Girl." At the final event before the hiatus, I'll not only take the lead myself, but also engage with participants from a position of watching over the next generation. What future do these two, aspiring to become speech-language pathologists and educators, envision? This documentary follows the challenges and growth of high school students aiming to create a society where children with various disabilities, not just stuttering, can live with peace of mind.
