SCARS began making history as the first official combat fighting program of the US NAVSPECWARCOM (commonly known as the US Navy SEALs). The developer of SCARS, Jerry Peterson was originally tasked to redefine and set Mission Specific tactical standards and parameters for US NAVSPECWARCOM, redefining how the US Navy SEALs handle hand-to-weapon combat.
