Today we're taking a complete tour of the new Xochi Highway, the first electronic toll road corridor in southwestern Guatemala. This new route connects San Antonio Suchitepéquez with San Andrés Villa Seca, Retalhuleu, covering approximately 31 kilometers, with four lanes, 23 bridges, and several exits toward Mazatenango, Santo Domingo Suchitepéquez, Cuyotenango, and La Máquina. In this video, I'll show you the newly inaugurated highway, how much it costs to use it, how the tolls work, what the promotional rate includes, what the TAG is, the speed limits, and whether it's really worth paying to avoid the long hours of traffic that usually form on the traditional route. We'll also see some sections that are still under construction, the future toll plazas, agricultural landscapes of the South Coast, plantations, bridges, and volcanoes on the horizon.
