Today marks the 35th anniversary of the II Kurultai of the Crimean Tatar people. The Kurultai is the highest body, consisting of 250 delegates. They are elected by voters - Crimean Tatars and members of their families for a term of 5 years by secret ballot. The Kurultai meets in session no less than once a year. And the session of the Kurultai already elects the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
