Welcome to The Sleepy Time Guided Meditation: A Guided Meditation for sleep problems, insomnia, and relaxation. It takes time for our brains, body, and nervous system to wind down from our day, especially with all we are bombarded with. This meditation is designed to help you fall or stay asleep while also providing deep relaxation and stress relief. Gentle breath work, soft words of encouragement, music & progressive muscle relaxation. NOTE: The pauses in this video are natural and used to SLOW DOWN your brain. For some, this might be difficult at first, but it gets easier over time. Our brains anxiously want to fill in the blanks. Please just breathe and try to let go of this, or simply notice your reaction to it with compassion and curiosity. It is designed this way to help you. There is power in the spaces/pauses... again, just breathe." If you struggle with winding down and getting to sleep, consider experimenting with the following: โบImproving your "sleep hygiene." โบEstablishing a consistent "sleep ritual." โบ Establishing a consistent sleep/wake schedule. โบRefraining from using electronics or screens at least an hour before bed. โบExamining and changing your diet (i.e. limit sugars, caffeine, stimulants, etc.) โบCreating a cool, dark, comfortable environment to sleep in. โบAdd physical activity or exercise to your schedule. โบTry to limit daytime naps. โบ Integrating a "brain drain" practice before trying to go to sleep (i.e. writing down all of your thoughts, things to do, etc.) Please know you are always welcome to adapt your meditation practice in a way that feels comfortable, safe, and supportive for you. Remember there is no "wrong or right way" to practice.
