For miles, this route crosses historic neighborhoods, industrial zones, shantytowns, motels, areas marked by street prostitution, and sectors where drug use is a part of everyday life. But behind the prejudices and urban legends, there are also residents, workers, and places that form part of the identity of this extensive route.
