De Boekentafel van Godert Walter van zaterdag 11 oktober 2025

Is being great in everything a worthwhile ideal? Can you achieve it with a hole in your head? Godert Walter's Boekentafel (Book Table) discusses these questions in a small committee. The Dossier of the most widely read author in the Netherlands is also discussed and receives a compliment from Carel. After reading a thick book about Thomas Mann, he was ready for a story accessible to everyone, with a comprehensible plot that still aligns with historical truth. We also reflect on the honor bestowed by the Nobel Prize committee on László Krasznahorkai, a Hungarian writer who until now has been largely unknown to the members of the Boekentafel. That will, of course, soon change. Topics to be discussed: Zigmund Skujins - The Bed with the Golden Leg Willem Otterspeer - I Am Great in Everything: The Life and Work of Michaël Zeeman Anya Niewerra - The Dossier Anton de Goede - A Hole in the Head: The Life and Work of Heere Heeresma Christien Brinkgreve - The Burdened House
