FRANKIE GAVIN : "The Gold Ring" - Irish jig on fiddle - 1975
One of the best examples of Irish fiddle playing I've ever heard, this was recorded when Frankie Gavin would have been about 20 years of age. Alec Finn [ RIP ] comes in with bouzouki accompaniment the second time through. I would thoroughly recommend the 2 duet recordings they made together, the first in 1977, and the second only last year. 2 classic recordings. The accompanying scan is of Frankie on the front cover of a "Treoir" magazine from 1992.
