Storbo Camp: A story of mining at Mt. Rainier!

The Glacier Basin of Mt. Rainier was home to a pretty extensive mining camp which had a sawmill, concentrating mill, an upper and lower camp, and even a hotel. Several claims were worked for copper in the 1910s and 20s, though none were very successful. The Glacier Basin Camp is where the Lower Storbo Camp and Hotel once stood. Since this mine and camp is within the National Park, I feel comfortable sharing the location and history of this one. There are no open portals, but the various machinery left behind tell a remarkable story in an absolutely stunning setting. More history on the sites and machinery can be found here: https://www.morageology.com/pubs/300.pdf
