What have I learned as an implementation specialist?!

What makes implementation successful? In this talk, which I presented at the YHARC Improving Adolescent Mental Health Evidence and Policy Workshop on the 13th March, I share my experiences as an implementation specialist working with the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Yorkshire and Humber. From my early PhD research on mindfulness in schools to my work with complex healthcare systems, I explore the challenges of putting evidence-based interventions into practice. I dive into: ✅ The role of implementation science and key frameworks ✅ Why traditional research methods fall short in real-world settings ✅ How complexity affects adoption, integration, and sustainability ✅ Practical strategies for improving implementation outcomes If you're working in research, healthcare, education, or any field that relies on implementing new ideas effectively, this presentation is for you! 🚀 🔗 Check out my Essential Implementation Podcast for more insights!
