Power Tool repair, broken Makita DFS452 drywall gun won't drive screws.

This broken makita cordless drywall gun came with no info at all. Motor was running but wouldn't drive anything. Clearly, someone had opened it already and assembled it wrong. Rebuilding is easy, but why did the customer open it? It is the question. Looks like it was a faulty trigger to begin with. The speed was all over the place and wouldn't always ingage full power.
