On July 3, 2011, hikers exploring near Floral Park in Glacier National Park came upon weathered strips of clothing and human remains. Rangers returned to the area and sent the bones for testing, which were positively matched and had belonged to Yi-Jien Hwa, whose disappearance had become one of the most infamous in Glacier’s history. In August 2008, Yi-Jien Hwa entered the park and disappeared so completely that searchers were left wondering how a man could vanish from a mapped route, inside a national park, beneath the eyes of aircraft and rescuers.
