Speed Coloring from Spellbinding Images Grayscale Coloring Book with Colored Pencils and Gel Pens

Hi everyone! This is Nikki Burnette, the artist and author of the Spellbinding Images Coloring Book series. Today I want to share a speed coloring video of myself coloring one of my witch images, Coraline, from Spellbinding Images: A Grayscale Coloring Book - Beginner's Edition - Volume 1. Thanks so much for your support! =) Details about my process: Step One: Use colored pencils dipped in petroleum jelly and color over the entire area. The grayscale underneath will do all the shading for you! Press with medium to firm pressure to create very vivid color and cover up all the tooth of the paper. Color over the whole skin area with Light Flesh. Then use Dark Flesh to add shadows, cover up the "gray" of the skin tone and make it more vibrant. Use the grayscale image as your guide when placing skin shadows. Use the grayscale image as your guide when placing your black and white colors and color firmly right over the top of your existing colored pencil work. I also outline certain areas that I really want to pop such as the face, eyes, lips and outlines of the clothing. Step Four: Add background colors quickly and easily with Pebbles Chalk. Choose details that you want to add interest to or you really want to sparkle. On this piece, I added polka dots to her outfit and highlights to her eyes and clothing. Stars are the perfect finishing touch for a witchy background!
