Dalek Full Life Size Radio Control NSD RC BBC Dr Who Prop Fan Build DIY builders series 1, 2, 3
Here is a fully operational Radio Controlled Dalek. This is an authentic replica was built using fibreglass mouldings that were cast from the original BBC moulds. All functions work by radio control as if an operator is inside it. A radio control system using 12 separate channels control the drive motors, steering, head turn, eye stalk, arm, plunger and gun movements, speech, water cannon and lights. The sound system has several preset remote operated Dalek phases. There is also a wireless headset mic with ring modulator for the operator to speak through while sounding like a Dalek! The dome lights flash in sync with the voice. An on board wireless camera and sound monitor assists the operator to see and hear what the Dalek is doing. The project took 6 months to complete and was built by Ahmed Latif, Jayson Adams and John Whitehouse. The aim was to produce the world’s first fully remote controlled Dalek which was also authentic to the original BBC props. This meant sourcing the same parts and mouldings that the were used to construct the TV Daleks.
