Every year, thousands of pilgrims leave Medina for one of the most significant journeys a person can make. Most people see the destination. Not many see the departure. In this video I walk from the Prophet's mosque all the way to Dhul Hulayfah, the historic site where Hajj pilgrims make their ihram before leaving for Mecca. Along the way I meet pilgrims on their bus just before they leave, share some history about Dhul Hulayfah that most people don't know, and capture the moment the journey actually begins.
