This is how I traveled through the heart of the Lenca region of Honduras Guajiquiro Biological Reserve. A natural haven and unique wilderness area located in Honduras, declared a biological reserve by the Honduran government. It was decreed a biological reserve in 1987 by the Honduran government due to the diversity of flora and fauna found there. It is a large plateau with peaks reaching 2264 m, 2253 m, and 2242 m, with an untouched area of ​​20 km² above the 2100 m elevation. The 1800 m elevation is not recommended due to extensive destruction. It is the only wilderness area in Honduras, and perhaps in Central America, where 5, and possibly 6, of the 7 pine species found in the country are present. Currently, it is threatened by logging, deforestation, and burning, so it is recommended that a total area of ​​70 km² be protected.
