Ласты Scubapro Supernova - для тех, кто заразился фрогом. И не только!

So, here's the news: Scubapro has pulled out all the stops and produced a killer fin called the Supernova. If you remember our previous videos, you've probably noticed that, as a proud owner of Force fins, I'm deeply skeptical of any company, even one as venerable as Scubapro, attempting to create something in the fin world that doesn't make you want to commit suicide. We've all seen Mares, Aqualung, and Cressi try to dispel skepticism, but it always ends in macabre horror. Yes, they regularly show us something, but the point is, they've reached some technological ceiling, and it's all reminiscent of trying to fit an automatic transmission into a Lada Priora. It seems to be working, but what a shame that is, huh? New colors, bright elastic bands, recycled plastic—but the fins remain the same. Scubapro engineers recently released the decent Seawing Nova fins, followed by the Seawing Nova Gorilla. Both models were excellent, but that didn't change the fact that fans of the brand had some questions about them. Some, for example, complained that these fins couldn't frog. However, they themselves couldn't quite explain why they needed a frog in the first place. The places where it's truly needed are far beyond the limits of recreational diving. Therefore, frog-paddling skills are usually taught by recreational instructors as some kind of sacred knowledge in ideal buoyancy courses. Well, hunger and mortgage payments force you to come up with even more incredible things to pay for a pool pass and new socks. But let's get back to the good news itself: the Scubapro Supernova fins. The name is pretentious, but you'll soon realize it's entirely appropriate. First, I'll say that these fins are a real contender for the title of the most versatile fins of all time. After all, if a fin performs as it should, it either weighs like a cast-iron bridge or is too big to fit in any suitcase. So, you can choose either a travel-friendly option—light and compact—or a powerful one, but then be prepared to cry from their size and weight. As you've probably already guessed, the Scubapro Supernova fins are also disassemblable. They come with a special multi-tool, as Scubapro marketers proudly call it, but it can easily be replaced with a regular multi-tool (we, for example, love Leatherman products) or simply with a steady hand. In any case, even without it, we had no trouble disassembling these fins, even without the special tool. Essentially, the purpose of this multi-tool is to pry the plastic tabs on the sides of the fins and separate them into two halves. After this, these fins fit into almost any backpack. This same "multi-tool" can also be used to adjust the elastic strapping. Scubapro uses a traditional shock cord—a latex-filled cord under a durable nylon sheath. Unlike the various elastic bands from other manufacturers, the shock cord is virtually indestructible; it's virtually impossible to tear. Honestly, we've never had anyone come to our store complaining about a broken Scubapro fin strap. The strapping has three positions on each side of the fin, allowing you to customize the fit to your liking. You know, one pair of boots today, another tomorrow, and even neoprene socks the day after—it's a real hassle. But here, it's simple—pull out the pin, reposition it, and reinsert it. Now the magic begins. The central panel of the fin automatically adjusts the angle of attack based on the force of the stroke, ensuring a light stroke while simultaneously delivering maximum power. This is where we're talking about the tunnel effect, which other fins achieve with rubber inserts. Scubapro calls the technology described above Hydraloop, but the idea is the same: directing the water flow backward to increase precision and propulsion with minimal effort. Another technology, Pyvot Control, ensures the blade's angle of attack is maximized—from 40 to 50 degrees. All of this works in conjunction with the dual wings on the sides of the blade. Their purpose is to ensure fin stability during the stroke, preventing the fin from twisting or warping. These dual wings also ensure precise horizontal movement. And here we gradually come to the conclusion that the Supernova is simply superb for paddling with that notorious frog. So if the instructor has infected you with frog (sounds scary, I agree) and wants you to swim with it in any situation, but couldn't sell you hellish rubber from the Stone Age - feel free to take these fins, you won't be disappointed!
