The Most Dangerous Xenos The Imperium Has Never Defeated | Warhammer 40k Lore

The Most Dangerous Xenos The Imperium Has Never Defeated The Imperium of Man has fought ten thousand years of war and won most of it. The Ork invasions that consumed entire sectors: repelled. The Tyranid hive fleets: blunted, if not broken. Chaos Black Crusades: contained at enormous cost. The official record of Imperial military history is, by any measure, extraordinary. The unofficial record is a list of things that were never resolved. Today we go through that list. The Lacrymole, shapeshifters so perfect that no identity verification the Imperium has ever devised can reliably detect them, whose infiltrations are discovered only after the damage is done, and whose greatest effect is the institutional paranoia that outlasts the infiltration itself. The Slaugth, an ancient species whose harvesting operations strip planetary populations with such precision that surveying vessels take weeks to confirm anything happened, and who have engaged the Imperium in hundreds of documented incidents without once being genuinely beaten. The Enslavers, warp entities from a previous iteration of the universe, whose last major outbreak nearly ended humanity before the Emperor's rise, and who are not gone but dormant, waiting for conditions that the Great Rift may be providing. The Rangdan, a species so dangerous that the two Space Marine Legions sent against them disappeared from the record entirely, and whose files remain sealed at a classification so deep they have no living authorized readers. We look at the Barghesi, quarantined indefinitely because engaging them was deemed worse than the cost of the fleet required to contain them. The Yu'vath, destroyed at the price of a permanent psychic scar on the region they inhabited. The Necrons, a civilization sixty million years ahead of the Imperium's technology, currently in the process of waking up and reclaiming their galaxy. The Orks, biologically impossible to permanently eradicate because they seed their spores into the soil of every world they touch. And the Tau, who are winning without fighting, one converted population at a time. The Imperium is very good at war. The galaxy has provided it with problems that war does not solve.
