While competing in bodybuilding competitions himself, Okada has also appeared in numerous media outlets as a skeletal muscle expert known as "Bazooka Okada." He excels at translating his knowledge and experience of bodybuilding and training into accessible, resonant language, earning him the nickname "the training evangelist of the soul." Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1980. Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Nishi High School, graduated from Nippon Sport Science University's Faculty of Physical Education, Department of Martial Arts, majoring in Judo, completed the Master's program in Health Science and Sports Medicine at the Graduate School of Physical Education and Health Sciences, Nippon Sport Science University (Master's in Physical Education Science), and completed the Doctoral program in Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. His qualifications include physical therapist, Japan Sport Association certified athletic trainer (AT), National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS, an international license for training instructors), Japan Training Instructor Certified Advanced Training Instructor, and fourth-dan in judo. After working at a general hospital and an orthopedic clinic, he joined a university that trains medical professionals, training instructors, and athletic trainers in April 2007. He has been an associate professor at Nippon Sport Science University's Faculty of Physical Education since April 2016, where he currently serves. Since April 2018, he has served as a thesis supervisor for the Master's program at the Graduate School of Physical Education and Health Sciences and the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at Nippon Sport Science University. His research focuses on core muscles, lower back pain, muscle hypertrophy, and weight loss. He has also published numerous books on related subjects. He has served as a training staff member (Judo) for the Japanese Olympic Committee, a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee's Scientific Support Department, and head of the Physical Fitness Department for the All-Japan Men's Judo Team. At the August 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, he contributed to Japan's first-ever men's judo team to win medals in all weight classes. He places bodybuilding, which consists of rigorous training and weight loss, at the core of his student guidance as a way to train not only the body but also the mind, and serves as an advisor for the Nippon Sport Science University Barbell Club. As a weight trainer himself, he made his debut in bodybuilding competition in 2014, winning the 70kg class at the Tokyo Open Championships in his debut match. He won the Japan Amateur Championships in 2016 and has competed in the Japan Championships in 2016 and 2017. As a skeletal muscle critic, he is known by the nickname "Bazooka Okada" and is active in many media outlets, including television and magazines, including "Honmadekka!? TV" (Fuji TV). He has written many books, including "Fat Removal Method" (Baseball Magazine), "Get a Ripped Abdomen in 2 Weeks! 4-Minute Muscle Training" (Achievement Publishing), and "Techniques for Building Muscle in the Fastest Way Where You Want It" (Sunmark Publishing). His books have sold over 1 million copies in total.
