Today marks the start of the first real phase of our apartment makeover here in France, right next to Disneyland Paris. It is the height of summer, it is hot, but we are diving right in: hanging moldings, painting the ceiling and trim, making the first preparations for the floor, and even laying the first floorboards. This isn't a perfect makeover video where everything is finished all at once, but simply a real DIY day as it was: searching, sweating, trying, getting help, and moving forward step by step. Orlando is back, my mom and Werner are with us, and together we are turning our apartment into more and more of a place that truly suits us. A lot will change in the coming days, but today is mainly the beginning: phase 1, the first works. We live next to Disneyland Paris, but this is also our life here in France.
