Andrei Gavrilov playing Chopin's Ballades 2 and 4, two-thirds of Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit, Scriabin's Sonata 4, Prokofiev's Sonata 8, and Scarlatti's L.366. This recital took place in Moscow some time pre-2000 during Gavrilov's long-haired hippie phase. It is possible that he played the programme in a different order than the one I've arranged, e.g. Andrei's which-piece-should-I-play coffee-and-cigarettes posture at the start of Ondine, hinting that it could have been an encore. Actually his behaviour throughout is as if each piece is an encore.
