"They Stripped Me Naked!" Ninye Tabz's Chilling Testimony.

Ugandan activist, journalist and whistleblower Natumanya Andrew, popularly known as Ninye Tabz, has finally spoken out after his abduction by armed men. For days, nobody knew where he was, with many fearing he had been taken to one of Museveni and his Muhoozi's torture facilities that are used to abuse detainees. According to Ninye Tabz, he was subjected to degrading treatment. He says he was stripped naked, photographed while naked, and forced to sleep on the floor of an ice-cold room. His account echoes what Eddy Mutwe, Bobi Wine's bodyguard, Bobi Wine himself, author and activist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, all went through in the past at the orders of Museveni. Whether viewed individually or together, these accounts describe a pattern that is designed not only to punish detainees physically but also to humiliate them, break their spirit, and instill fear in anyone who dares challenge those in power. In this commentary, I examine Ninye Tabz's disturbing testimony, compare it with other reported cases, and ask what these allegations say about the state of political repression in Uganda today.
