The 3 Frameworks That Stop Rambling

You're not rambling because you talk too much. You're rambling because of the way your brain is wired. There are two types of ramblers: 1. The Derailed Rambler: Your brain hops from one thought to the adjacent one and gets derailed because there's no anchor. Your brain sees a sideroad and takes it. 2. The Directionless Rambler: You know your topic cold but have no destination, so you explore out loud and hope the landing shows up. Most technical professionals try to fix this by talking less. It rarely works. Wandering is downstream of structure, not word count. In this video, you get the two-rambler diagnostic, three pre-built frameworks you can load before any meeting, and the thirty-second drill that walks you in with the scaffolding already on. THE 3 FRAMEWORKS THAT STOP RAMBLING 1. One-Idea Framework: When the meeting only needs one thing from you, commit to a single load-bearing point and let everything else serve it. 2. Contrasting-Ideas Framework: Highlight a point by contrasting it with another. Contrast is the mother of clarity. 3. Three-Points Framework: The classic spine that fits works well for teaching, story telling, and most executive. Problem, insight, ask. Or past, present, future. Pre-commit to the three before you open your mouth and signal it to your audience. I'm Michael Brunner. I help technical professionals get their ideas to land and shape decisions.
