Mobility innovations are coming to Milan. Area B will undergo changes, including pedestrian and cyclist detection systems and a blind spot warning sticker. Starting October 1, 2023, on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., M3 vehicles (vehicles intended for the transport of passengers, with more than eight seats and a maximum mass exceeding 5 tons) and N3 vehicles (vehicles intended for the transport of goods, with a maximum mass exceeding 12 tons) will be allowed to circulate in Area B only if equipped with systems that detect the presence of pedestrians and cyclists near the front of the vehicle or on the sidewalk, emit a warning signal, and display a special sticker warning of the danger due to blind spots. This measure was implemented following the accidents involving cyclists in Milan, in which five people have lost their lives while cycling in the city since the beginning of the year. And against the new ZTL rules, the regional League has announced a battle.
