Tempolale is a powerful collaboration that bridges sound and visual expression. Originally sung by Eli Njuchi, Tikonze Apapa brought to life its Malawian Sign Language version that is performed by James, the interpretation brings the song to life through expressive signing and emotion. At Tikonze Apapa, we believe in creating media that speaks to everyone. Through this project, we aim to ensure that the Deaf community is not only represented but also fully included in understanding and experiencing the message within the song. By translating Tempolale into Malawian Sign Language, we make the music accessible while promoting meaningful inclusion. This approach allows Deaf audiences to engage with the song’s emotion, story, and purpose—bridging the gap between sound and visual language in a powerful, respectful way.
