Access to safe drinking water is crucial for survival. However, billions around the world still lack access to clean water and sanitation. Many are forced to rely on dirty or polluted water sources, harming the health of those who consume them. Water forms a crucial part of Earth’s ecosystems, collectively known as the biosphere. The biosphere ensures that life flourishes on our planet, including many of the creatures humanity depends upon for food and other needs. Thus, our water sources, rivers, waterways and oceans must be protected from human impacts so that they may benefit both humanity and nature. That's why we've invited experts on water and the biosphere to share their insights about how we can solve the pressing issues connected to these topics.
