ALOHA E KOHALA Aloha Everyone! It’s Lynn with iHula Hawaii, where I am bringing the hula of Hawai‘i to you. In today’s video, we are going to do more hula basics, where we’re going to dance the kāholo and the hela, incorporating some simple basic arm movements. I hope it’s not going to be too confusing for you – just turn around and face the screen as we are facing the opposite directions and making sure we’re both going the same way (that sounded confusing!). Again I am dancing backwards so just simply follow along. Now the song that we are going to be dancing to is the Brothers Cazimero’s “Aloha E Kohala.” Their music really allows me as a dancer to feel the music, as well as want to move my body to the hula, and I hope you get to experience that same feeling as you follow along.
