In 2004, a former GoldenEye champion and world record holder turned his attention to Donkey Kong 64, aiming to become the first person to ever perform a speedrun of the game. This resulted in one of the strangest episodes in speedrun history, which was widely called the worst speedrun ever performed. This is the truly deep lore of an early speedrun oddity called "Wouter Goes Bananas".
