Using a Hongdian 1850
I've been using the Hongdian 1850 fountain pen for a few months now, and it's become a solid middle-of-the-pack occasional pen in my rotation. The Hongdian 1850 has a 0.6mm bent nib, which gives it a bit of character compared to standard nibs. It's not my daily driver, but it's earned its place for specific tasks. The bent nib creates an interesting line variation, and the pen itself is reliable without being remarkable. In this video, I'll walk through what makes the Hongdian 1850 worth using. The nib performance, how the bent nib behaves in practice, build quality, and where it fits in my wider pen rotation. I'll also talk about what ink I've been running through it and what kind of writing it's best suited for.
