Leonor & Sofía's FULL Day in Girona: Ancient Ruins, Royal Business & Sisters Side by Side 👑

Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía capped off their Princess of Girona Awards trip with a full day dedicated to history, purpose, and sisterhood — and this video takes you through all of it. The day began at Empúries, the only archaeological site on the entire Iberian Peninsula located right on the Mediterranean — home to the remains of an ancient Greek settlement and a Roman city existing side by side. Leonor and Sofía toured the site alongside young people from the Princess of Girona Foundation's programs, as well as three of this year's award winners: filmmaker Gemma Blasco, community leader Hatim Azahri, and biotech entrepreneur Patricia Aymà. Later, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia joined their daughters for a working meeting with the Foundation's Youth Advisory Council in Sant Martí d'Empúries — eighteen young people tasked with shaping the Foundation's future direction. The council presented a year's worth of work on emotional wellbeing, AI and technology, youth role models, and a major new initiative: the Generational Development Goals, designed to measure how young people in Spain are actually doing.
