𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡: Police Respond to Report of Man Wielding Stick

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — On Monday morning, June 8, 2026, Santa Monica Police officers responded to a report of a man allegedly wielding a stick in Palisades Park. Upon arrival, officers located the individual near Ocean Avenue. According to what was witnessed at the scene, the man was not wearing pants and was carrying a cane. Officers appeared familiar with the individual and engaged him in a calm conversation. The man spoke with officers while standing on the sidewalk. No threats or aggressive behavior were observed during the interaction. Officers asked if he was okay and offered assistance, including a pair of pants they had available in their patrol vehicle. The individual declined the offer and indicated he did not want assistance. After a brief conversation, officers wished him a good day and cleared the scene. Officers determined that the reported stick was a cane and that no enforcement action was necessary. The man then walked away without further incident. No arrests, citations, or use of force were reported. The incident was resolved through conversation, with officers determining that no crime had occurred.
