Fnirsi1014D Oscilloscope Test Probes Calibration in Under 7 Minutes ( Great Oscilloscope )
Follow our on-screen instructions, and you'll easily calibrate your oscilloscope test leads. Reasons to calibrate your X10 probe • Accurate measurements – Ensures the waveform you see is the waveform that's actually present. • Correct square waves – A properly compensated probe displays square waves with flat tops and sharp edges. • Accurate voltage readings – Poor compensation can affect measured voltage, especially on fast signals. • Reliable rise-time measurements – Incorrect compensation can make edges appear slower or faster than they really are. • Better troubleshooting – Prevents you from chasing faults that are actually caused by the probe, not the circuit. What happens if the probe isn't adjusted? 🟥 Under-compensated Rounded corners on square waves. Slow-looking rising and falling edges. High-frequency components are reduced. 🟩 Correctly compensated Flat top. Sharp, square corners. Accurate waveform. 🟦 Over-compensated Peaks or overshoot at the corners. Ringing or spikes. High frequencies are exaggerated. We own both the FNIRSI 1014D and a (Rigol oscilloscope that cost us over £500) While the Rigol is our go-to for more advanced work, We often find ourselves reaching for the 1014D because it's portable as we have a built in rechargeable battery ( Video to follow) quick to set up, and the display makes waveforms easy to read. No oscilloscope is perfect, especially at this price point, but the 1014D provides an impressive range of features for the money and has earned its place on our own workbench. If you've had a positive experience with the 1014D, we'd love to hear about it. Let's keep the discussion constructive and helpful for people considering this oscilloscope... Considering its price, the FNIRSI 1014D offers outstanding value. It includes all the basic oscilloscope functions you'd expect, along with many more advanced features that are often found on much more expensive instruments.
