Commodore 64 Longplay [028] Last Ninja Remix (EU)

http://www.longplays.org Played by: MadMatty Last Ninja Remix, developed and published for the Commodore 64 by System 3 in 1990. "Once beaten, but not destroyed, the evil Shogun Kunitoki used all his mystic powers to transport himself through time and establish a new empire of tyranny in modern day Manhattan. In fear of Kunitoki's growing powers, the arcane gods use all their wisdom to bring you, the Last Ninja, across the abyss of time and confront your arch-enemy once more. You arrive in this frightening and awesome modern world bringing nothing with you save your intelligence, skill and cunning and a burning desire for vengeance. Will this be the final battle? Can you vanquish Kunitoki once and for all?" Last Ninja Remix is an updated (enhanced?) version of Last Ninja 2. The gameplay is the same but we have some great updated/remixed audio tracks by Reyn Ouwehand, Anthony Lees and a small intro sequence as well as a new hud. I’m not sure why the game needed to exist other than maybe Reyn Ouwehand missed out on doing the soundtrack to Last Ninja 2..? Im blind to any visual differences with the games other than a new Inventory border at the expense of the animated eyes! On the Amiga the title made sense as it didn't have Last Ninja originally. On the Spectrum the title ‘Last Ninja 2 Remix’ is more apt even though the game has barely any music/sound at all! The gameplay remains exactly the same as Last Ninja 2. Combat pretty much involves button machine faster than the enemies. While there is a block move I don't find it does all that much just giving the enemy more chance to break you. I use the stick and the sword most of the time which serves me well. The shurikan has limited uses and is best saved for the final boss. The spectrum version does allow you to pick up some more in the office level. The longplay starts out with the new but very short intro sequence. It uses a remixed version of The Dungeon soundtrack from ‘The Last Ninja’ and takes a while to play out. There is no loading music this time however to break up the gameplay. To make the longplay a bit different to the Last Ninja 2 video, I take a different route through the mansion avoiding the alarm which makes the enemies hurt more when active. 00:00:00 - Intro Music 00:05:30 - Central Park 00:10:05 - The Street 00:14:10 - The Sewers 00:16:53 - The Basement 00:21:40 - The Office 00:24:48 - The Mansion 00:28:05 - The Final Battle
