According to official reports from the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, the tremor occurred at 6:06 PM (Spanish time), registering a maximum intensity of level 2 in the western municipality of Hormigueros. Authorities have not issued tsunami warnings for the Virgin Islands or the Puerto Rican coast. This seismic event coincides with another earthquake of magnitude 5.0 reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in the Dominican Republic, which occurred at a depth of 71.3 kilometers and 58 kilometers south of Boca de Yuma.
