The Three Bridges
A walk on the John Muir Way from Bo'ness to Queensferry, passing by Blackness Castle and through the Hopetoun Estate. By the still yet breezy waters of the Firth of Forth we pass through old forests and stop at the castle to eat our pie, pausing to reflect on old age, before heading around the sweeping bay by Wester Shore Wood and by the ancient settlement of Abercorn. The walk has the three bridges - the Forth Road Bridge, the Queensferry Crossing, and the original bridge: the Forth Rail Bridge - in view for much of the walk, and we end in Queensferry, sometimes called South Queensferry, in view of the oldest, the grandest, and most iconic of them all: the railway bridge, known simply as The Forth Bridge.
