Did FROM Forget What Made It Great? | Episode 9 and 10 Review

I’m reviewing the penultimate episode and Season 4 finale of FROM, and while I enjoyed the ending overall, I can’t shake the feeling that the show has lost some of what made it special. If you’ve watched my previous FROM reviews, you know my thoughts have evolved throughout the season. I thought Season 4 was an improvement over Season 3. The pacing was better, the mystery became more focused, and some of the new supernatural revelations helped move the story forward. Critics have also noted that the back half of the season does a better job paying off earlier storylines and expanding the mythology. But here’s my biggest issue... The balance has changed. In Seasons 1 and 2, the monsters were always the main threat. The supernatural mystery was there, but it supported the horror instead of replacing it. Now it feels like the opposite. Season 4 leans much more into mythology, visions, and supernatural lore. While I appreciate getting answers, I miss the constant tension that came from knowing the creatures were always outside waiting. That’s what made FROM unique. I wanted more monster attacks. More survival horror. More of that terrifying feeling that anyone could die the moment the sun went down. Instead, the show has become more of a supernatural mystery than a horror series. That doesn’t make it bad. In fact, I think Season 4 is definitely better than Season 3. But for me, it still doesn’t reach the level of Seasons 1 and 2, where the mystery and horror were perfectly balanced. Overall, I still enjoyed the finale, and I’m invested enough to come back for another season. I just hope the writers remember what made FROM stand out in the first place. 🎬 In this video: My review of the penultimate episode and Season 4 finale Why Season 4 improved over Season 3 Why I think the show has shifted too far into the supernatural Why I miss the monsters and survival horror My overall ranking of the seasons Predictions for where the story goes next 👇 Let me know: Do you prefer the newer supernatural direction, or do you miss when FROM focused more on the monsters and survival?
