Kizza Besigye arrested after altercation with police officers at his Kisangati home
Former FDC presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye lost his cool and physically engaged police officers deployed at his residence in Kasangati, Wakiso district after they blocked his visitors from accessing the home. The visitors included Kampala road Mayor Erias Lukwago and Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa who were paying a courtesy call on Besiege who recently returned from a trip abroad. In the confrontation, Besigye was arrested and driven to Naggalama Police Station in Mukono district. Meanwhile, police also arrested other Kampala politicians in the city centre in regard to the directive banning street vending.
