La Guancona (Colombia) Es catadora, selectora, gestora cultural, bailadora y defensora del goce como acto político. La nostálgica de la musica cubana que escuchaba en su infancia la llevó a conectarse con la salsa. Desde los vinilos y la música digital, propone sets cargados de sabor y memoria que cruzan la salsa, los ritmos cubano y el Jazz latino. This set is a journey through Afro‑Cuban roots and the many routes that Cuban music has traced across the Caribbean. It begins with Yoruba chants dedicated to the orishas and the ritual percussion that gave birth to much of the island’s musical language. From there, the path moves through música campesina, son, rumba, and the great dance orchestras of the 20th century, eventually reaching contemporary expressions of Latin jazz and salsa in New York, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. Some pieces belong to Cuban musicians; others come from artists who, from different territories, have engaged in a deep dialogue with that tradition. For me — someone who grew up far from Cuba but close to its music — this set is a love letter to the island and its sonic legacy: a tribute to the Afro‑Caribbean pulse that keeps traveling, transforming, and connecting us through the clave.
