Rakaia 647, 6433 & 6411 Responding (Winslow Vegetation Fire + Medical, PFA & MVA)

Rakaia 647, 6433, and 6411 responded to various calls throughout May, the most significant being with 6411’s response to Winslow. A fire broke out in two hay sheds at Andrew Quigley Contracting just before midnight on Wednesday, May 15th, involving a total of 214,000 bales of hay. The fire destroyed between 12,000 and 14,000 bales. Fortunately, no other structures beyond the two hay sheds were damaged. Quigley was ready for fires, having experienced a similar blaze on the property a couple of years prior. The other callouts included a medical emergency, a PFA, and a motor vehicle crash on Thursday, 22nd of May at 8:57am.
