Can Traditional Tekat Embroidery Inspire Contemporary Art? | Inspired by TEKAT

What happens when contemporary artists step into the world of traditional Malay tekat benang emas embroidery? This video follows the journey behind Inspired by TEKAT, a visual arts project bringing together master tekat artisans from Kuala Kangsar, namely Adiguru Tekatan Benang Emas Puan Azizah Adam and her daughter Nor Faizatol Fazleha Mohd Rasdi, with contemporary artists and design students. Through months of learning, experimentation, and collaboration, the project explores how this centuries-old heritage craft can be reimagined for today.
