Activate Diversity - Juneteenth in Action

Removing Confederate Statues and Reclaiming the Narrative In observance of Juneteenth, this program examines the legal, legislative, and community-driven efforts behind the removal of Confederate statues and monuments in Virginia and South Carolina. At the center of the conversation are two men who lived this work firsthand: Rev. Nelson Rivers, III, a pioneering civil rights activist, and Devon Henry, President and CEO of the company responsible for the physical removal of more than 23 Confederate statues across the Southeastern United States. Together, they offer a rare, ground-level view of what it takes to move racial justice from rhetoric to reality -- navigating the laws that long protected these monuments, the strategies that broke through them, and the ethical and professional weight that comes with doing this work in public life. Attendees will leave with concrete insights and a clearer understanding of how to advance similar efforts within their own practices and spheres of influence. Panelists Devon M.
